Jewellery Care Guide

Your 25UPONFIVE pieces are crafted from certified 925 Sterling Silver and finished to be worn daily. With the right care, they will maintain their shine and character for years to come.

925 Sterling silver is a precious metal and, like all real silver, it can naturally develop a soft patina or tarnish over time. This is normal and part of owning genuine silver, and it is easy to restore with simple care.

Everyday Care

  • Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, or doing any intense work or activity.
  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and harsh chemicals.
  • Put jewellery on after applying skincare and fragrance.
  • Wipe your pieces gently with a soft cloth after wearing to remove oils and moisture. Avoid using paper towels or tissues, as these can be abrasive and may scratch the metal.

These small habits help slow tarnishing and keep the surface finish looking clean.

Storage

  • Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • A jewellery box or the complimentary pouch provided with each piece is ideal to help prevent scratching and reduce exposure to air and humidity.
  • Keep pieces separated to avoid surface marks from contact with other jewellery.

Proper storage is one of the simplest ways to protect your silver and preserve its finish.

Polishing, Tarnish & Oxidation

Tarnishing is a natural process with real Sterling Silver. It does not mean your jewellery is damaged or low quality. In fact, the presence of tarnish is one of the clearest signs that your piece is made from
genuine silver.

Sterling Silver reacts with elements in the air and environment over time, which can cause the surface to darken slightly. This is
completely normal and easily reversible.

  • Use the complimentary polishing cloth included with your order to restore shine and brightness.
  • Gently polish the surface using light pressure.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh polishing products unless specifically recommended for sterling silver.

One of the benefits of real silver is that it can always be restored. Unlike plated base metals, brass, or stainless steel, solid sterling silver can be polished repeatedly to bring back its original finish and colour.

Interestingly, regular wear can actually help slow tarnishing. The natural oils in your skin can reduce oxidation, which means wearing your jewellery often can help keep it looking brighter over time.

Long-Term Care

Your pieces are designed for everyday wear, but periodic care will help maintain their appearance:

  • If a piece has heavier tarnish, professional cleaning is recommended.
  • For textured or detailed pieces, use gentle polishing to preserve surface character.
  • We offer lifetime polishing support to help keep your jewellery looking its best.

Real silver is made to be worn, lived in, and restored. With simple care, your jewellery will continue to age beautifully and remain
part of your everyday style.
